The aim of the study is to view the Magnificat theologically, with an optional follow up session to look at it in a contemplative manner.  

This session will cover the authorship and the setting of the Magnificat, along with its context in terms of the previous verses. We will look at the text – the story, structure, interpretation, similarities to other texts and particularly similarities to 1 Samuel 2:1-10 Hannah’s Prayer. We will also briefly look at revolutionary aspects of the text and finish with a group discussion.
